On the last podcast I made mention of a chart that Dimensional Funds put out; a familiar one showing how stock markets have trended up over the long term despite the fact that along the way we constantly get hit by one crisis after another. 

Years back I wrote a blog post that went year by year for my entire life, mentioning the worst big bad news stories that happened each year in a table format, tracking the ever-increasing S&P 500 value and long term annualized return alongside. I titled it with an absolutely clickbaity title: Why You Should Avoid Stocks and have updated it every now and then, tacking a few more years on, as I get older, and as we muddle through more geopolitical crises.
