2027 Canadian Federal Tax Brackets & Indexed Amounts
CRA usually publishes next year’s indexed amounts in late November. We published them on October 22. Here’s how.
CRA usually confirms next year’s indexed amounts in mid-to-late November. We published the 2027 figures on October 22. The article linked below explains exactly how.
The TFSA limit goes to $7,500. The OAS clawback threshold rises to $97,801. The lifetime capital gains exemption reaches $1,308,150. Medical, disability, child benefits and more: in all, we worked out more than fifty federal amounts for 2027.
There’s no guesswork. The indexation formula in the Income Tax Act uses inflation data through September. Once Statistics Canada released September’s CPI on October 19, every input was known. For 2027, the indexing factor is 2.6%.
To get the numbers right down to the dollar, it is a little more complicated than simply taking the 2026 figure and adding the 2.6%. Our article explains why, and how to get it right.
These are our calculations until CRA confirms them, and Parliament can still change any amount. But the method doesn’t change from year to year. Next fall, you won’t have to wait either.
